VIA Scubilion Fair at SJI

SJI hosted the fair on 21 April with ten community partner organisations, including SPCA and Migrant Workers Centre, to connect students with volunteering opportunities.
SJI organised the 2026 VIA Scubilion Fair on 21st April for Josephians to learn how they could contribute meaningfully to the community.
Ten Partner Organisations were invited to engage and interact with the community. They are: Heartware, SPCA, Expedition Joy, MINDS, ABLE, Yellow Ribbon Cares, Lions Befrienders Singapore, The Red Pencil, Migrant Workers Centre (NTUC) and Moulmein-Cairnhill Constituency Office (MOCA).
At SJI, service projects are called VIA Scubilion, named after Jean-Bernard Rousseau, a French Catholic member of the De La Salle Brothers, who received the name Scubilion when he entered the novitiate. He serves as an inspiration for a life of service to the last, the lost and the least.
The objectives of Scubilion Fair are to:
deepen awareness of social issues and understand existing efforts in the community
discover and explore opportunities to contribute
inspire and align individuals’ and groups’ interests with opportunities to serve
In his opening address, Vice-Principal Mr Dominic Ang encouraged our students to have a burning desire to make the world a better place and the courage to act on it.
The Fair was a platform to inspire our Josephians to be agents of service and change in the world.
