Three Josephians Recognised with SAF Young Leader Award 2025

Jayden Foo, Kate Sia and Nicholas Pramono were among only 25 recipients (out of 272 applicants) of the award, each receiving a $2,500 prize.
The SAF Young Leader Award (SYLA) was established to recognise students who demonstrate strong leadership qualities, cognitive aptitude, and a keen interest in defence and national security. This year, 272 students from the various pre-tertiary institutions across Singapore applied for the award. After a rigorous selection process, only 25 were selected.
We are proud to share that three Josephians are recipients of the prestigious SYLA in 2025. Congratulations to Jayden Foo, Kate Sia and Nicholas Pramono, all from the SJI IB Class of 2025.
We were also honoured to welcome CPT Kerryn Lee, an alumnus from the SJI IB Class of 2016, as our special guest for the presentation of the award. Her presence served as an inspiration and motivation to our current students.
As part of the award, each recipient will receive a $2,500 cash prize, a certificate of participation, invitations to exclusive MINDEF/SAF engagement events, and an opportunity to be considered for scholarships for local and overseas studies.
