The SJI Experience for Total Defence Day (TDD40) Disruption Exercise

SJI commemorated Total Defence Day on 15 Feb. As a school community, Josephians experienced a unique disruption; a meatless day in school. This shared "disruption" served as an opportunity for students and staff to reflect on the impact of such disruptions on our society and the different ways that they can play a part to ensure a secure and sustainable nation. 

Through the disruption exercise, we deepen our awareness of such issues and it serves as a reminder of the importance of being adaptable and resilient in the face of uncertainties and changes. This affected not just hungry stomachs, but also the canteen vendors’ ability to prepare healthy meals. 

This experience showed students not to take things for granted and to appreciate the importance of ensuring the stability of our food chain supply to Singapore. As a school, we should be prepared for disruptions while continuing to support and uplift one another.
