The Sentinel Programme Experience

Student Ridha Nowshad gained hands-on Python, network forensics and intrusion detection skills through the Digital Intelligence Service's Sentinel cybersecurity programme.
The Sentinel Programme, organised by the Digital Intelligence Service, gave students the opportunity to develop essential cybersecurity skills for real-world application. Ridha Nowshad (FN604) was among the participants who benefited from the programme.
Through fortnightly lessons and workshops held during the school holidays, she gained hands-on experience in Python programming and explored advanced topics such as Network Forensics and Intrusion Detection Systems. Participants also enjoyed exclusive visits to Singapore’s defence agencies, gaining valuable insights into national digital security efforts.
Reflecting on the experience, Ridha described the programme as enriching—not only in building technical knowledge and skills, but also in fostering meaningful friendships with trainers and classmates. She highly recommends the Sentinel Programme to peers interested in pursuing their passion for cybersecurity while contributing to Singapore’s digital defence.
