The Chief Scout's Award 2025

Sixteen Year 4 Scouts and one Venture Scout earned SJI's Chief Scout's Award, the top honour attainable in the Scout and Venture sections.
The Chief Scout's Award is the highest award in the Scout and Venture section. This year, 16 Year 4 Scouts as well as one Venture Scout have attained this award.
The Chief Scout's Award (Scout Section) is the pinnacle award that a secondary school scout can attain. Scouts began working towards this award when they first joined SJI in Year 1, and throughout their scouting journey, completed 4 progress badges before qualifying for nomination.
Each progress badge comprises themes covering development in Citizenship & Global Awareness, Adventure & Outdoor, Service & Community, Sports & Physical Recreation, Inspirations, Beliefs & Attitudes and Creative Pursuits.
The Scout Section awardees are Nicholas Sim (LE403), Chia Jie Chen (LE402), Joel Tan (LE402), Marcus Loke (LE402), William Ng (LE402), Han Zhi Rong (LE401), Akif Bin Mohammad Adil (MN401), Ryan Luo (MN403), Raphael Yang (ML401), Aguilar Adrien Clark Lim (ML 401), Alex Lim (ML402), Kyrtis Koh (LE403, Suganth s/o Kanthiban (FN403), Oscar Hardman (ML403), Wong Jun Hang (LE403) and Subramanian Somasundaram (ML403).
As part of attaining the Chief Scout's Award (Venture Section), the Venture must go beyond completing the badge progress scheme. It also requires passing the demanding Venture Challenge Course and undergoing a rigorous 3-day 2-night camp designed to test both scouting skills and soft skills under high pressure and stress. This award is a true testament to resilience, leadership and dedication in Scouting. For the Venture who is receiving the Chief Scout's Award, it is a stepping stone towards achieving the President Scout Award.

The SJI Pelandok Scout Unit has also achieved the Frank Cooper Sands Award for Unit Excellence. The assessment for the award centres on six key areas: youth development, youth service, unit activities, unit participation, international participation, and adult training and development.
