SJI’s Year 4 O-Level Class of 2026 was celebrated at its Graduation Ceremony on 25 September, with inspiring addresses by Principal, Mr Justin Pierre and Guest-of-Honour Dr Jamie Mervyn Lim (Class of 1991), Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of Mental Health.
With their O-Level exams still ahead, this milestone marked both an ending and a beginning: the close of four formative years at SJI and the beginning of new journeys filled with hope, purpose and possibility.
The ceremony began with prayer and thanksgiving, grounding the celebration in our Lasallian heritage and the values of Faith, Service and Community that guide every Josephian. Parents, teachers and students joined in heartfelt gratitude for the friendships, experiences and bonds of brotherhood forged over these four years.
As the graduates prepare to step forward with hope, purpose and confidence, our Principal, Mr Justin Pierre, encouraged them to look beyond themselves and carry with them the values and spirit nurtured within the halls of SJI — to live with integrity, serve others generously and strive always to make a positive difference in the world.
Guest-of-Honour Dr Jamie Mervyn Lim (Class of 1991), an alumnus of SJI, inspired the graduating cohort through his reflections and his own example of leadership and service.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the graduating classes, with each Josephian receiving his Certificate of Achievement. The ceremony also honoured recipients of the Lasallian Distinguished Service Award, recognising students who exemplified the school’s values through their dedication and contributions to SJI and the wider community.
Special recognition was accorded to Garren Joshua Tang (MN402), who received both the Josephian of the Year Award and the Brother Liefroy Bajon Student Leadership Scholarship, recognising his outstanding leadership and significant contribution to the life of the school.
As the evening drew to a close, the Class of 2026 stood together and raised their voices in St Joseph’s Call and the School Rally — a fitting reminder that while their time as Year 4 students may be ending, their journey as Josephians continues.
To the Class of 2026: You have journeyed with hope. Now go forth with courage and purpose, ready to be a light in the world.
We are immensely proud of you. As you prepare for your O-Level examinations and for all that lies beyond, may you continue to live by our motto, Ora et Labora, and carry the spirit of Faith, Service and Community wherever life takes you.
Once a Josephian, always a Josephian.
