SJI World Environment Day: "Beat Plastic Pollution"

SJI marked the day with a two-week library display and Reading Period materials tied to the 2025 theme.
SJI celebrated World Environment Day (5th June 2025) by joining the global movement to raise awareness and inspire action for environmental protection. Aligned with the 2025 theme, "Beat Plastic Pollution," the school emphasised the urgent need to reduce plastic waste and promote sustainability.
Leading up to the event, the school library hosted a two-week display in May featuring books, infographics and educational videos on environmental conservation. Students also received informative reading materials during their Reading Period to deepen their understanding of plastic pollution and eco-friendly alternatives.
This initiative by the Library Committee and Humanities Department reinforced SJI’s commitment to environmental stewardship, encouraging students to adopt sustainable habits. By integrating education with real-world action, we hope to empower young minds to contribute to a cleaner, greener future.
