SJI Welcomes our new Year 1 cohort

SJI welcomed our new Year 1 Josephians with a 2-week Orientation Programme strategically planned for them to build bonds with peers in their class and their cohort, and also to get to know their senior Josephians.

The Orientation Programme, highlights the strength of the SJI community, bringing together the community of Peer Support Leaders, Peer Support Facilitators, CCA leaders and teachers that the Year 1s will grow with in SJI. From getting to know their fellow Josephians to getting acquainted around their new school campus, the bright-eyed and eager Year 1s were introduced to the Josephian family through many interactions with their seniors and staff across many varied activities. The programme took new Josephians on a journey through the school with an overnight camp, exploring the various CCAs, from sports to the uniformed groups and performing arts, and also our rich heritage of over 170 years in Singapore.

The Orientation programme culminated last Friday, 12 Jan, with the Initiation Ceremony and the Campfire. At the Initiation Ceremony, all Year 1 Josephians were officially inducted into the school as full-fledged Josephians with the badge-pinning by their seniors.

The evening ended with a rousing Campfire where each fraternity (Fintan, Lawrence, Marcian and Michael) sang the night away in joyous harmony.
