SJI Guitar Ensemble celebrates SG60

On 15 August, the Guitar Ensemble performed local and National Day songs to about 300 people at Esplanade's Red Dot concert series, their first-ever public and pop band performances.
On the 15th of August, our SJI Guitar Ensemble (GE) entertained the public with nostalgic local songs like ‘Di Tanjong Katong’ and ‘Singapura’ as part of the Esplanade concourse Red Dot concert series for the month of August.
It was SJI GE's way of helping Singaporeans feel a sense of connection to our country through music. They also played popular National Day songs like ‘Stand Up for Singapore’ and ‘Reach for the Skies’, for a crowd of about 300 people. The two 30-minute concerts were a first of sorts - GE's first public performance, the first time our Year 1s performed and the first pop band performance.
The crowd's enthusiastic applause showed just how much they enjoyed the performances. It was a night that the guitarists will never forget.
