Revving Up for the SJI Mighty Mousetrap Car Challenge

Following a successful run of the inaugural SJI Mighty Mousetrap Car Challenge in 2024, SJI organised the inter-school STEM competition again this year.

The aim of this event is to reach out to the schools in the South Zone and other Lasallian schools to raise awareness of STEM, and to promote interactions between students from various schools. We are heartened that there are a total of 8 Primary schools and 5 Secondary schools that signed up – a total of 24 teams (67 contestants) this year!

SJI conducted a workshop in April to share scientific principles of how the mousetrap car works, and other construction tips. All the schools that had signed up attended this workshop, and the responses were positive. From now till the competition date, participants will be busy designing, modifying and testing out their cars. We wish all participants a happy and meaningful learning experience and we look forward to the actual competition on 2 July 2025.
