SJI lost the Final to VJC on penalties on 21 May after Carreira Salvador's first-half goal was equalised, despite two saves by goalkeeper Ang Siew Ee.
The NSG A Division Football Final once again brought together two football powerhouses : SJI and VJC in an electrifying encounter at Our Tampines Hub on 21 May 2026.
Backed by the unwavering support of the entire Josephian family - students, staff, parents and alumni - our boys rose to the occasion with tremendous heart, determination and belief.
SJI started brightly and took the lead through a composed first-half finish by Carreira Salvador (ML514), sparking passionate support from the sea of green and white in the stands.
In a fiercely contested final, both teams battled courageously and created opportunities in an intense and gripping encounter. Even after VJC equalised in the second half, our Josephians continued to fight with resilience and unity, refusing to give in. The match eventually went to penalty kicks, where goalkeeper Ang Siew Ee (MN618) produced two outstanding saves that kept our hopes alive till the very end. While the final result did not go our way, our boys can hold their heads high. Throughout the season and especially in this final, they displayed remarkable courage, teamwork, resilience and sportsmanship - qualities that truly reflect the very best of the Josephian spirit.
