Josephians Triumph at the 11th National War and Diplomacy History Challenge

A nine-student team won overall school champion, beating 40 schools with strategy play and an escape-room challenge.

We are incredibly proud to announce that our students have emerged as the Overall School Champions at the 11th National War & Diplomacy History Card Game Challenge 2026!

Competing against 40 schools from across the nation, our Josephian team of three Year 2s and six Year 3s navigated the complex world of 1918–1945 diplomacy with skill and precision. From forging strategic alliances to tackling the "Codebreaker’s Challenge" escape room, they demonstrated exceptional critical thinking and historical empathy.

The Josephian team comprised Justin Surya (MN301), Ivann Wee (ML302), Shaun Loh (FN301), Sakthi Muralikrishna (LE303), Owen Goo (ML301), Lucas Cheam (ML301), Timothy Goh (FN202), Izag Ziyik Lam (FN203) and Kong Maojia (FN203).

From the diplomatic table to the WWII Escape Room, these Josephians proved they have the wits and the heart to lead. SJI congratulates our young historians for their hard work and brilliant strategic minds!
