Josephians Showcase Innovation at Illustratum 2025

Among 82 teams at NUS's Illustratum physics competition, SJI's Team La Guitarra won Overall 1st Prize and Team Smart Ape Society earned a Distinction Award.
Josephians participated in the annual Illustratum: A Hallway Physics Competition hosted by the National University of Singapore (NUS). This competition aims to promote communication in Science revolving around the world of physics.
Each team spent three months tirelessly preparing their prototypes and learning new concepts. Their hard work and dedication culminated in a presentation to the judges at the National University of Singapore - Physics Department, where they were rightfully recognised with well-deserved awards for their innovative designs and insightful explanations.
Out of the 82 teams from various schools that participated in this competition, we are absolutely thrilled to announce that the SJI Team La Guitarra comprising Neel Bansal, Gregory Tan and Kaedrin Isaacs (from ML401) clinched the Overall 1st Prize.
Another SJI Team, Smart Ape Society, comprising Oon Kang Hong (LE507), Esmond Goh (FN505) and Quinlen Low (LE509) was conferred the Distinction Award.
A total of 5 other SJI Teams received the Merit Award and they are:

Team Sync Three, comprising Chava Vishruth (LE510), Samudrala Sai (MN517) and Sankar Gukaan (FN505)
The Dream Team, consisting of Andrew Tan (FN505), Addison Lee (LE509) and Kenneth Ng (ML5130)
