Josephians Plant Trees for the Future

15 SJI scouts volunteered to plant trees on 7 May 2025 at the green field at the junction of Tampines Road and Hougang Avenue 3. They were participating in the OneMillionTrees movement by the National Parks Board which aims to restore nature back into our Singapore city through the planting of a million more trees across the island over a period of 10 years.

This is part of the efforts to transform Singapore into a City in Nature, which is a key pillar under the Singapore Green Plan 2030.

Tree planting is not new to some of the scouts as they have participated in tree planting for the past 3 years. This activity is coordinated with the Singapore Scout Association (South Area). In all, the scouts, with excellent teamwork, managed to plant about 24 trees within one and a half hours.
