Josephians in MOE Moot Parliamentary Programme

This year, a team of four Josephians was selected by the MOE’s Gifted Education Branch to participate in the esteemed Moot Parliamentary Programme. The programme aims to foster active citizenry and deepen students’ understanding of Singapore's government and legislative processes.

Over the course of the year, the team engaged in lectures delivered by experts, embarked on experiential learning journeys, and gained hands-on experience in drafting parliamentary bills. Their journey culminated in the final debates held at Parliament House.

During the debates, Patrick Nott Pei De (ML403) captivated judges with a compelling backbencher speech that shifted the direction of the discussion, earning him the prestigious Best Backbencher award. The other team members were also recognised with certificates of participation, celebrating their outstanding contributions and dedication throughout the programme.
