Josephians Honoured at Special Awards Presentation Ceremony 2026

Three SJI students were recognised for their outstanding achievements at the Special Awards Presentation Ceremony 2026, held on 31 August at the National University of Singapore’s University Cultural Centre. The annual ceremony celebrates students who have distinguished themselves across academic and non-academic domains.

The awards were presented by Senior Minister of State for Education, Dr Janil Puthucheary.

Aidan Lim-Aswira (ML102) received the Lee Kuan Yew Award for All-Round Excellence, while Tan Yu Jin Felix (MN103) and Mary Faith Gomez (ML512) were awarded the Prime Minister’s Book Prize.

SJI was also proud to have Josephians Ethan Chong and Sawako Maury (both from MN520) serve as emcees for this prestigious national event.

Established in 1974, the Prime Minister’s Book Prize (PMBP) recognises students who have demonstrated excellence in bilingualism. This year, 39 students received the award across the primary, secondary and pre-university categories.

The Lee Kuan Yew Award for All-Round Excellence (LKY-ARE) is a national-level award that recognises well-rounded students who have excelled in both academic and non-academic areas while exemplifying the Desired Outcomes of Education. In 2026, 12 primary and 12 secondary school students received the award.

Congratulations to Aidan, Felix and Mary Faith on this significant achievement! Their recognition reflects their commitment, talents and pursuit of excellence, and we are proud to celebrate them as members of the Josephian community.

We are equally proud of Ethan and Sawako for representing SJI with confidence and poise as emcees for this significant occasion.
