Josephians Explore Future Paths at University and Scholarship Fair

On 26 July, Year 5-6 Josephians gathered for an in-person University and Scholarship Fair, eager to learn about their future paths. The event featured nearly 60 organizations and numerous booths, including those manned by SJI alumni.

Held in the Indoor Sports Hall, the Fair showcased opportunities in fields ranging from scientific research and finance to the civil service. Students were encouraged to explore careers aligned with their passions and interests.

The Air Force booth attracted many students interested in military piloting. Meanwhile, booths from the Defence Science Organisation (DSO), Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA), and Government Technology Agency (GovTech) were popular among aspiring scientists and engineers seeking scholarships and research opportunities.

Government agencies such as the Accountant-General's Department (AGD), Home Team Science & Technology Agency (HTX), Ministry of Education (MOE), National Parks Board (Nparks), and Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) offered substantial scholarships, including full tuition coverage and exchange programs. Prominent local universities like the National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), and Singapore Management University (SMU) provided information on university life and courses. The Medicine booths were particularly popular, as were the Engineering and Computer Science booths, which drew many inquiries.

Representatives from the Singapore Institute of Technology, the University of the Social Sciences (SUSS), and the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) showcased their distinctive courses, broadening students' perspectives on educational pathways.

Overall, the Fair offered students a valuable opportunity to explore career and scholarship options, providing an initial glimpse into their potential futures. Students are encouraged to keep an open mind as they continue exploring diverse opportunities.
