Josephians Are Champions of the Inter-Secondary Schools NewsMaker competition

Two Josephians beat 41 schools to win a Malay video competition on legends and folklore. Read how they reframed the tale.

SJI team - Lufil Hadi Bin Iskandar (LE402) and Daniyal Bin Mohamed Borhan (MN401) has emerged as Champion in the Inter-Secondary Schools NewsMaker competition organised by National Heritage Board Malay Language Council.

41 secondary schools participated in this competition where the students were given only 4 days to produce a video based on the theme 'Malay Legends and Folklore'. The challenge was to present the legend in a contemporary context. The team modelled the famous 'Hang Tuah and Hang Jebat' chronicle to depict fake news.
