Josephian Changemakers at Jane Goodall Youth Summit 2025

On the 12th of November, two groups of enthusiastic Year 4 IP students proudly presented their Signum Fidei (SF) projects at the Jane Goodall Roots and Shoots Youth Summit 2025 - an inspiring event that brings together young changemakers committed to environmental stewardship and community action. Their projects reflected both creativity and purpose, demonstrating how students can turn simple ideas into meaningful solutions using the current local wildlife activity. By combining technology with a passion for conservation, the students highlighted the importance of understanding animal behaviour and protecting natural habitats.

One of the groups showcased their idea of monkey-proof rubbish bins that could be trialed near the school premises given the proximity to forested areas. Their project emphasised the need for responsible communal disposal habits that encourage a healthy co-existence with wildlife.

The students' presentations were clearly an example of our school’s distinctive Signum Fidei Programme in action; where students use Design Thinking principles and innovative ideas expressed through meaningful, community-focused intentions.

A special highlight of the summit was the visit from Minister for Education, Mr Desmond Lee, whose engagement with the students underscored the significance of youth-led innovation.
