Josephian Alumni Recognised with MOE Teaching Scholarship

We are proud to share that two of our alumni, Julian Teng (SJI IB Class of 2021) and Isaac Dev Vorah (SJI IB Class of 2022) have been awarded the MOE Teaching Scholarship. These prestigious scholarships are given to individuals who demonstrate strong academic potential, a passion for education, and the commitment to nurture future generations. Recipients will receive sponsorship for their undergraduate tuition fees, a monthly allowance, and opportunities to develop themselves professionally, including platforms to grow as leaders in the education sector.

We congratulate our alumni on this meaningful step towards shaping lives through teaching.

Julian shared: 'Growing up, I was inspired by my own teachers and the dedication they had to their students and to teaching. It was that inspiration, coupled with a hope to give back, even if in small ways, that made me choose teaching. My teachers and mentors never stopped encouraging me to pursue my passions and be my best self, and I am here today because of them.' He will be teaching History and Geography.

Isaac shared: ‘In JC, I always asked myself what was the point of all the effort that I put in studying, as I needed more than just my final IB grade as a motivation that would drive me to get out of bed every morning. I realised that I wanted a meaningful career where the final goal isn't just about myself. From there, I began to seriously consider teaching as a career.’ He will be teaching Physics and Chemistry.
