Celebrating Josephian Excellence at the Youth Science Conference

At the 31st Youth Science Conference held online on 19 September, an SJI SB SMP team won a Distinction Award, while an SMP team earned a Merit Award.
The Youth Science Conference (YSC) is an annual event organised by the Gifted Education Branch (GEB) of the Ministry of Education (MOE) for students involved in scientific research through the Science Mentorship Programme (SMP) or the School-Based Science Mentorship Programme (SB SMP). This year, the 31st YSC was an online event held on 19 September.
We are delighted to share the good news that the SJI team comprising Zachariah Goh (LE303), Alexander Tan (MN302) and John Gabriel Lim (FN303) achieved the Distinction Award and their SB SMP project was selected to present to an audience of students and teachers online.
The SMP team also made SJI proud by achieving the Merit Award. The team members are Fan Enyi, Caeden Lee and Samuel Thean (all from MN403). The other 4 SB SMP teams also worked hard and showed active participation and enthusiasm in their SB SMP projects:

We greatly appreciate the guidance and mentorship of their Science teachers (Mr Eugene Teo, Mrs Yeo Siew Li and Ms Gina Tan) and scientist mentors (Dr Zhuang Png Mao and Dr Ng Wee Hoe) who were instrumental in the success of the students’ projects.
