Two Josephians took third place in an NUS statistics poster competition. Read what their study of online retail found.
Two Josephians participated in the annual Statistics Poster Competition organised by the Department of Statistics and Data Science, NUS at the end of 2023. During this competition, they were exposed to concepts and methods used in statistics and data science.
Aaron Wong (MN518) and Brayden Chang (ML514) clinched third position in the competition and were awarded Certificates of Distinction. Their poster titled "The Fate of Online Retail Post-Pandemic" used colourful and informative graphs to demonstrate how a Counterfactual SARIMA Model was applied to analyse real-world data. The exploration led to a conclusion that a rise of online-retail during COVID-19 has not triggered a permanent shift in consumer behaviour.
