A Night of Memories and Friendship

What a night to remember! On 15 May (Fri), the SJI Founder’s Hall was once again filled with the boisterous noise, cheer and laughter from some not-so-young teenagers when our alumni from the Class of 2000 to 2015 gathered for the first of a series of Homecoming events as part of the lead-up to the school’s 175th Anniversary in 2027.

It was a truly joyous evening of "Honouring our Legacy" as our Josephians reconnected with their friends and teachers, many of whom they had not met since their last day in school. From browsing old Josephian Annuals to touring the familiar grounds, the air was thick with nostalgia. Whether it was going back to the classroom they once studied in or the chapel where many prayers were offered in times of need, everything looked so familiar.

Many alumni shared that entering the school gates was like stepping into a time machine, taking them back to their carefree teenage days. Many were glad to meet up with more than 35 teachers present, catching up and expressing gratitude for the work they do to "touch the hearts" of (the students) entrusted to their care. The night ended on a high note, the SJI way, with the singing of the School Rally, a powerful reminder that we are all part of one enduring Lasallian family.

Thank you to the nearly 300 alumni and teachers who came home to kick-off our countdown to SJI’s 175th Anniversary in 2027.
