A Historic Victory as Josephians Crowned NSG A Division Football Champions!

SJI beat Nanyang Junior College 2-1 in extra time at Jalan Besar Stadium.
Our A Division Football team were crowned Champions of the NSG A Division Football Championship yesterday after defeating Nanyang Junior College (NYJC) 2-1 in a pulsating match at Jalan Besar Stadium.
The team took the lead through a wonderful finish from Darius Lim before NYJC equalised shortly after. Both teams had good chances in the second half but failed to convert them into goals. The match then went into extra time and it took a bullet header by Hugo Gauthier from a corner kick in the second half to seal the match, with 5 minutes remaining on the clock.
Our Josephian A Division footballers showed tremendous grit, courage and determination to win the match, buoyed by a strong crowd of over 2000 Josephian students, staff, parents and Old Boys. They have held the SJI banner high with pride! The shield of Green and White certainly shone bright. Our footballers brought out the best in themselves and in all of us - they showed us what it means to be a JOSEPHIAN.
