A Historic Championship Win for SJI Football C-Division

After a season full of challenges, sweat, and determination, our young and talented team of SJI footballers has done the school proud by clinching the NSG C Division Boys League 1 Football title.

At the finals played at the National Stadium on 14 August, the SJI team eased past Meridian Secondary School 3-0 with a dazzling performance, and was cheered on by more than 2500 Josephian supporters. Left winger, Jamus Low (LE201) opened the scoring with the first goal 18 minutes into the first half. Energized by the rousing cheers from the SJI supporters, striker, Zhou Luye (FN102) added the second goal just 3 minutes into the second half.

SJI goalkeeper, Colin Chew (FN101) made a superb one-on-one save to keep their clean sheet intact, with Lai Keng Lum (MN201) delivering the decisive third goal in the 56th minute to secure the championship for SJI.

Every Josephian footballer left it all on the pitch, and this victory is a testament to their unbreakable spirit and relentless drive. Our ardent supporters, comprising school leaders, students, staff, parents, and alumni matched the team’s energy and indomitable spirit, filling the stadium with unwavering cheers that fueled the team's deserving win.

As we celebrate this historic victory, we are reminded of the camaraderie, resilience and heart that define our Josephian spirit. This Championship title is truly deserving and is a proud moment for the entire SJI community.
