Josephian Talent Programme

The Josephian Talent Programme (JTP) aims to develop each boy according to his talent and interest. We envision each SJI boy to graduate T-shaped with a broad-based academic foundation coupled with in-depth development in at least one area of talent or interest.

The specific objectives of the JTP include providing each boy with:

    * Opportunities to explore varied areas of interest;
    * In-depth development in specific areas of talent and interest; and
    * Opportunities to apply advanced knowledge and skills in a sustained and/or authentic situation.

Students pursue in more depth one area of their talent, with options in subject groups such as English Language, Chinese Language, Sciences, Mathematics and the Arts. The programme will be run during curriculum time, during which students will be guided by a mentor to pursue individualized inquiry into their topic of interest. Some students will have external talent mentors, drawn from our partnership with external institutions, including NUS, NTU, Singapore Polytechnic and Lasalle College of the Arts.
