An SJI education aims to educate the whole person. We do so by providing a broad-based academic curriculum that is integrated with a comprehensive student development curriculum with a strong emphasis on character development and leadership development. We develop each boy according to his talent and interest. We prepare each boy for the real world beyond school to face future challenges. Most of all, we nurture each boy to be Men of Integrity and Men for Others.
From 2013, SJI will be offering a dual track education comprising the 6-year Integrated Programme (IP) track and the 4-year O-level track. The IP track, which will lead to the International Baccalaureate Diploma programme (IBDP), will integrate a 4-year secondary education with a 2-year IBDP. IP students can proceed onto the 2-year IBDP without the need for them to do the O-level examinations at the end of the 4th year. The O-level track students will continue to do the GCE 'O' level examinations at the end of the 4th year. Based on their O-level examination results, they can apply to continue on to do the IBDP at SJI. To be eligible to apply for the IP track, which is meant for the top 10% of the students who are university bound, the students would need a PSLE T-score of at least 250 for consideration for admission into the IP track via secondary school posting exercise.
More information on our 4--year secondary school programme is provided below. Our 2-year JC programme offers the IB Diploma Programme.
To support our students in their academic and non-academic pursuits, SJI will be implementing a Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD) programme starting with Secondary 1 2013. This means that all Secondary 1 students will be required to bring their own personal computing devices/notebook computers to their classes.

Academic Programmes (Secondary School)
The broad-based academic curriculum prepares our O-level track boys well for the GCE 'O' level examinations by helping them to learn how to learn. This curriculum comprises GCE 'O' level subjects in the following main subject areas: English Language, Mother Tongue Language, Mathematics, Sciences and Humanities.
This same broad-based academic curriculum also provides our IP-track boys with a strong academic foundation and the ability to learn how to learn so that they are well prepared to undertake the IB Diploma programme at JC level.
SJI is one of five schools that has been approved by the Ministry of Education to admit boys from the Gifted Education Programme who prefer the GCE 'O' Level track.
Both IP and O-level track boys are able to participate in the Josephian Elective Enrichment Programme to pursue their personal interests.
All lower secondary boys (IP and O-level) are on the Business Design Thinking aimed at equipping our boys with the necessary basic skills to be inquirers, thinkers and communicators to support their academic learning and to develop their passion and interest and be prepared for the real world.
Student Development Programmes (Secondary School)
The comprehensive student development curriculum prepares both our IP and O-level track boys well for the real world beyond school by helping them to learn how to live. This curriculum comprises various programmes which are aimed to develop the necessary life skills such a moral compass, effective communication, personal effectiveness, working with others and understanding the community.
