As of January 2009, the school fees for Sec 1 to Sec 3 boys is at $290 per month for Singapore citizens and $360 per month for Permanent Residents. School fees for foreign students in Sec 1 to Sec 3 are $520 and $590 per month for ASEAN and Non-ASEAN students respectively.
The school fees for the 2009 Sec 4 cohort are at $200 and $240 for Singapore citizens and Permanent Residents, and that of Sec 4 foreign students at $400.
SJI is prepared to help every boy whose parent cannot afford the school fees.

In addition to the above fees, parents can be expected to incur additional costs per year that range from $800-1000. This includes the cost of study materials (e.g. textbooks, course materials), participation in co-curricular enrichment activities and miscellaneous items (e.g. CL electronic dictionary, school diary).
It excludes cost of participation at optional overseas study trips. Some of the above costs can be paid using the student's Edusave Fund.
