Applicants should be university graduates with at least honours degree in the relevant subject area and possess teacher training qualifications. Those intending to teach in the Senior Section should preferably have experience in the IB Diploma Programme or have experience teaching at Junior College level.

For some candidates there may also be opportunities for professional growth by teaching Theory of Knowledge.

• Administration Manager

Suitable candidates are invited for the position of Administration Manager which we are looking to fill by mid-Jul 2018.  Reporting to the Vice Principal (Admin), the Administration Manager, is responsible for the following:

  1. Admissions
    • Oversee the admission exercises including the direct school admission exercises for Sec 1, 3 and JC and the admission appeals jointly with the Vice Principal, Student Development,
    • Custodian of admission policies as spelt out by the Ministry of Education and the school.
    •  Oversee leave of absence and withdrawal from school.
    • Administer the SJI Scholarship/Bursary and related MOE Scholarship/Bursary schemes such as the Edusave Scholarship for Integrated Programme.
  2. Student Services
    • Oversee the student services provided to present and past students.  Jointly with the Student Development team, oversees the processes for the various student services such as management of student records, CCA/CAS records, Edusave funds and dissemination of key information to students.
    • Manage the administrative support services for the 3 School Academies e.g. student attendance, early leave, overseas trips etc and the general administration of the school.
    • Administer the Meal Voucher Programme, MOE Independent School Bursary (ISB) and other school-based financial schemes for needy students.
    • Support the identification of external partners of the school, including educational institutions, organizations and corporations that the school can collaborate with to enhance the teaching and learning programmes and student development initiatives.
    • Provide administrative and project management support for projects in advancement of the mission of the school.
  3. Administrative Duties
    • Serve as recording secretary to the weekly Admin Meeting.
    • Support the Principal and Vice Principals in any corporate initiatives and any other administrative work.
    • Plan budget for the Student Services section.
    • Supervise the procurement of goods and services and the management of school inventory and assets.
    • Support the review and streamlining of processes for efficient running of the General Administration.

Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of experience in general administration.
  • Good interpersonal, organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and work well in teams.
  • A dynamic and motivated individual with a keen interest in continuous improvement and work excellence.
  • A university degree in any discipline; those without a degree and with relevant experience and expertise may also apply.


• Library Assistant

Suitable candidates are invited to apply for the position of Library Assistant which we are looking to fill by Jul / Aug 2018.

The key responsibilities
    • Operate the library automated system (Spydus)
    • Carry out day-to-day operation of the library efficiently
    • Support teaching and learning in the school by helping the Teacher-Librarian with preparation of library notices, creation of themed displays to promote reading, liaison with book suppliers and other vendors and any other jobs that support library programmes and events.

Knowledge & Abilities
    • Applicants should have knowledge of and reasonable competency in shelving according to the Dewey Decimal Classification System, word processing, data entry, the ability to prioritise jobs and meet deadlines and the ability to communicate clearly and follow both written and verbal instructions well in English.  Although prior knowledge of Spydus or another library automated system is desirable, it is not essential as on-the-job training will be provided.

Education & Experience
    • Applicants should possess a minimum qualification of GCE 'O' Level Certificate with a pass in English. GCE 'A' Level Certificate or Polytechnic Diploma is preferred.  Experience working in a school library will be advantageous.
