May: Heartstrings’18: A Symphony of Dreams by SJI PRISM

Be enthralled by the masterful serenades of Mr Samuel Lim as he incites dreamlike music from his Guzheng. Celebrate with us his personal journey as a survivor of a horrific acid attack that permanently damaged his tongue, throat and vocal chords.
Prepare to get lost in the musical nostalgia with Mr Robert Fernando, one of Singapore’s most respected and sought-after vocalists. He performs in concerts all over the world and is a participant in our favourite national songs like “We are Singapore”.
We warmly welcome back our young, multiple award-winning soprano soloist – Ms Lauren Yeo. Her powerful and angelic vocals have garnered her many accolades and high praise from professionals, including the Grammy award-winning Canadian music producer, David Foster. She has sung at over 100 events in countries such as Wales and the United States.
Other amazing performances of the night include wonderful fusions of classical, light pop and jazz pieces by Beautiful Mind Music Academy students with special abilities, SJI’s award-winning guitar ensemble, string ensemble, together with the rest of our illustrious performers.
All proceeds will be donated to SPD (formerly known as Society for the Physically Disabled) and Beautiful Mind Charity Singapore. SPD was established and has supported people of all ages with disabilities through their varied programmes and services including rehabilitation, day care and vocational training. Beautiful Minds is a music academy, which nurtures musical talent in children with disabilities.
